Job Overview
The SkillBridge Internship offers an exciting opportunity for U.S. Military Service Members to gain valuable experience in Human Resources. As an intern, you will be involved in various HR functions, including onboarding, employee relations, learning and development, employee engagement, and offboarding. You will assist in the day-to-day operations, contribute to key HR processes, and develop the skills needed to succeed in the corporate world.

Functional Areas/Roles

  • Onboarding
    Assist with the entire onboarding process, from obtaining hiring approval to managing the first 90 days of a new employee’s journey. Ensure that all necessary HR activities are initiated and completed on schedule using the HR onboarding checklist.
  • Employee Relations
    Support HR programs including compensation, benefits, time-off, discipline, grievances, investigations, and performance management. Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and employee benefits.
  • Learning and Development
    Track, record, and document both mandatory and non-mandatory training sessions and professional development activities, including anti-harassment training, business ethics courses, certifications, and tuition reimbursement.
  • Employee Engagement, Recognition, and Programs
    Assist with planning and organizing company events. Help track employee milestones and years of service awards, ensuring recognition programs are efficiently executed.
  • Offboarding
    Support the processing of terminations and assist with related administrative tasks.

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Must be an active U.S. Military Service Member eligible for the DoD SkillBridge program
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
  • Ability to learn quickly and familiarize yourself with Citizant’s employee management applications
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail, professionalism, and confidentiality are key
  • Strong organizational skills and a proactive mindset
