Reporting directly to the Group CEO, the Senior Communications and Public Relations Officer is tasked with designing and executing comprehensive communications and PR strategies that amplify AGF’s visibility, shape public perception, and promote the organization’s brand across Africa and internationally. The role involves managing internal and external communication channels, overseeing editorial content, engaging with the media, and supporting digital and event marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Support the senior leadership in crafting and delivering strategic communication plans aligned with AGF’s mission and shareholder expectations. Uphold brand consistency by ensuring internal and external communications—emails, social media, sponsorship proposals, business pitches, and presentations—conform to AGF’s brand guidelines. Collaborate with marketing agencies, translators, and creatives to develop compelling content tailored for diverse audiences. Maintain an organized digital archive of communication materials including audiovisual assets and reports for future reference.

Draft, edit, and review high-impact written content such as press releases, speeches, web articles, and promotional materials. Contribute to official publications including annual reports, brochures, manuals, and generate scripts and storyboards for multimedia content. Create and manage content for AGF’s digital and social media platforms, overseeing campaign planning and execution. Guide external PR agencies on social media best practices and content relevance.

Engage with the media by coordinating press coverage, responding to media queries, and preparing press kits and releases. Monitor media engagement, compile analytics, and assess brand exposure across multiple regions. Produce internal bulletins and regular updates on AGF initiatives to keep staff informed and aligned with management’s strategic direction.

Lead event planning and management for key AGF events such as partnership announcements, conferences, networking sessions, and CSR initiatives. Ensure that every event aligns with AGF’s objectives and enhances its visibility and reputation.

Qualifications and Skills
Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field. At least 7 years of professional experience in a financial institution or development-focused organization. Broad expertise in public relations, branding, stakeholder engagement, media strategy, and corporate communications. Excellent communication and writing skills in English, with working knowledge of French considered an asset. Demonstrated ability to work in multicultural settings, manage multiple priorities, and maintain attention to detail. A strong strategic mindset with proven influence and interpersonal skills.
