The Head of Line Maintenance is responsible for overseeing all line maintenance activities at assigned stations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and Jambojet’s internal procedures. Reporting to the Accountable Manager, the role ensures aircraft airworthiness, safety, and reliability while contributing to the airline’s high on-time performance record and operational efficiency. This position is central to the technical management of the fleet and requires strong leadership and planning capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
Ensure full compliance with Jambojet’s Approved Maintenance Organization policies and national aviation regulations while upholding a strong safety culture. Develop and execute efficient maintenance plans that reduce flight disruptions and operational costs. Lead and supervise line maintenance teams, ensuring timely execution of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks. Perform assessments, identify performance gaps, and implement corrective actions while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Maintain accurate maintenance records for traceability and regulatory audits. Manage personnel, tools, and equipment effectively to support maintenance operations with minimal aircraft downtime. Oversee the Maintenance Control Centre, especially in resolving AOG (Aircraft on Ground) cases with urgency. Proactively monitor line maintenance quality and safety standards, taking preventive action and addressing issues to avoid operational disruptions. Build, guide, and develop a cohesive maintenance team to meet performance and compliance targets.

Qualifications & Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering or a related discipline. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a line maintenance role within a fast-paced, low-cost carrier environment. Strong background in DHC-8-400 aircraft maintenance is essential. Knowledge of KCAA regulatory requirements and aircraft maintenance documentation processes. Proven leadership, resource management, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and coordination abilities across teams and departments. Ability to anticipate maintenance needs, apply problem-solving techniques, and adapt to evolving technical and regulatory environments.
