The Mater Hospital, established in 1962 by the Sisters of Mercy, a Catholic Order of Nuns from Ireland, began as a 60-bed general hospital. It operates under the Registered Trustees of an entity registered under the Perpetual Succession Act, following independence.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee daily food production in the assigned section.
- Ensure food is prepared and cooked in a clean environment.
- Prepare daily mis-en-place.
- Assist in food dispensing.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Ensure all equipment in use is operational.
- Collaborate with executive staff to determine food supply orders.
- Maintain appropriate supplies in the hospital kitchen.
- Participate in the continual improvement and implementation of current Quality Management Programmes, such as HACCP/FSMS and QMS.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Section Head.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Diploma in Food Production from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a busy hotel or hospital environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Effective execution skills.
- Results-oriented attitude.
