Job Description
The successful candidate will be appointed on a two (2) year contract, renewable up to two (2) additional terms, and will be responsible for the following:
- Conducting tutorials, research, and publications under the guidance of senior academic staff;
- Participating in the preparation of grant proposals;
- Assisting in academic demonstrations and the assessment of undergraduate student reports;
- Supporting the supervision of undergraduate projects, tutorials, practical sessions, and field attachments;
- Engaging in research projects;
- Contributing to professional and community service activities; and
- Performing any other duties as assigned.
Requirements for Appointment
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:
- A Master’s Degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution;
OR,
- A holder of MBChB or BDS with additional specialized training;
- Registration with the relevant professional body (if applicable);
- Demonstrated capability in university teaching and research;
- Participation in conferences and similar academic forums; and
- Fulfillment of the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
